Guma Airport

Guma Airport is a small safari airstrip in the northern Okavango Panhandle of Botswana, near Guma Lagoon and the Guma/Nguma area. It is located in the North-West District, at approximately -18.9540, 22.3671. Its aviation code is FBGU.

The airstrip provides access to the Guma Lagoon and surrounding Okavango wetlands, including Guma Lagoon Camp and nearby Nguma Island Lodge. Guma Lagoon is in the lower Okavango Panhandle, an area characterized by permanent water channels, lagoons, papyrus wetlands and islands.

For safari clients, Guma Airport is particularly useful because it allows fly-in access directly into the Okavango Panhandle, avoiding a long road transfer from Maun. The surrounding area is well suited to mokoro excursions, boating, fishing, birdwatching and wildlife viewing, with the permanent waters of Guma Lagoon being one of its main attractions.
